Our Process
Element Shilohs is committed to bringing forward the best Shiloh Shepherds possible and we pride ourselves on proving our dogs and progeny. We are transparent with our choices and what we hope to see in each pairing, and share updates regularly on our social media pages, where you can see not only upcoming pairings and information, but also what our lifestyle is with Shiloh Shepherds through daily stories.
In order to produce Shilohs that could be stars in the conformation ring, great casual sport dogs, or the best family pets we can create, we use all knowledge available to our advantage. We have learned this from multiple experienced breeders, who we consult with on the benefits and potential risks of each pairing. We also utilize scientific tools like UC Davis and Embark reports to work towards the long term health and genetics of the dogs we love. We look into the health testing of not only the dogs we utilize in our program, but also their lines behind them, and of any puppies moving forward in order to give our progeny the best possible odds of a healthy start.

Being a trainer means each puppy will be raised with puppy culture and any buyers will have our support throughout the lifetime of their Element puppy.

What you can expect from us- a registered litter through the TSSR (more info here), puppies raised with Puppy Culture, at least weekly updates on social media of litters and our own dogs, and a responsive breeder who is happy to help in any way possible, be it sports, conformation, or basic training. We also plan on doing an Embark and/or UC Davis report on every puppy in a litter before going home in order to track genetics.

What we expect of you- All puppies must have a holter test done (provided by us) between 5-10 months which will help ensure we are producing the healthiest hearts possible. We hope most puppies will complete adult registration, whether breeding or not, between 24 and 30 months. As much as you like updates, so do we! We encourage families to keep us posted on their pups' lives and accomplishments which we are also happy to share!
